Ambulatory Imaging Surveyor OpportunitiesThis is an ideal opportunity for dedicated Radiologists, Lead Radiologic Technologists and Medical Physicists who are either presently employed in the imaging field, or have recent experience in it to work 1 week per month with 100percent nationwide travel. This position can be based anywhere in the US.
Selected candidates will survey imaging organizations throughout the United States, including requirements for personnel, equipment, quality assurance and quality control activities and the delivery of quality and safe patient care. Applies systems analysis skills and inductive reasoning skills to determine imaging centers' degree of compliance with applicable standards and functionality of care delivery systems. Engages health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards based issues in health care in order to assess compliance and to identify opportunities for improving compliance. Prepares management reports that clearly link individual standards deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and related organization risk points. Effectively communicates this information to health care organization leadership in a constructive and collegial style. Participates in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: Radiologists requires: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) with current professional license in discipline required at time of hire and Board Certified. Minimum of five years of experience with expertise in one or more of the following advanced diagnostic imaging modalities: computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine/positron emission imaging system, including three years direct clinical experience and two years management experience.
Lead Radiologic Technologist - (Chief Technologist, PET/CT Technologist, Radiology Supervisor, Nuclear Medicine) requires: CNMT and/or ARRT(N), ARRT(R), ARRT(CT) certification; Bachelor's degree; Minimum of five years of clinical experience that includes one of the following: PET, CT, MRI and nuclear medicine and health physics, and three years management experience.
Medical Physicist requires: Master's Degree in Medical Physics or Radiological Sciences. PhD and Board certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and exposure to various aspects of quality assurance, radiation safety and experience in medical radiation physics. Knowledge of QA/QC policies and procedures, state and regulatory requirements and responsibilities for monitoring radiation safety.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties.
Teach assigned lecture courses in the radiology program in a manner consistent with the department's standards, and with the content cited in the approved course outline and plan of instruction.
Acquire and maintain education and skills necessary for competency to teach any course in radiologic technology.
Teach, supervise and evaluate students in theory.
Perform professional tasks related to the areas of assignment, particularly in student advisement, curriculum design and evaluation, program review and other affairs of the department and division.
Remain current in the subject matter areas and in the techniques of effective instruction through recent clinical experience, professional development, and application of technology to education.
Participate in curriculum development and serve on division, college and district committees as necessary to maintain and improve the instructional program; participate in appropriate professional
development activities.
Teach scheduled classes and perform related duties as assigned, including timely compliance with clerical and administrative responsibilities; comply with district, college and division policies in the performance of duties.
Work cooperatively with staff and students.
Maintain formal office and campus hours; participate in department and division meetings.
Maintain current knowledge of instructional methods and new technologies pertinent to areas of assignment; learn and apply emerging technologies and advances (e.g., computer software applications) as necessary to perform duties in an efficient, organized and timely manner.
Instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the disabilities and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of students.
Evening and/or Saturday assignments may be required as part of the regular contract.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in any discipline AND two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR Associate degree in any discipline AND six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; OR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be from accredited postsecondary institutions (see www.nocccd.edu/Employment regarding accredited postsecondary institutions).

Possess a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist license.
Holds or qualifies for a current California Certified Registered Technologist license. Documentary proof of license must be submitted to District Human Resources prior to July 1, 2010, as a condition of employment.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in any subject area.
Teaching experience, preferably at the community college level.
Holds or qualifies for a California Fluoroscopy Permit.
Sonography license (ARDMS) and experience.
Experience using computers in education/ radiography.
Demonstrated leadership experience and/or participation in community or professional organizations.
Experience working in a team teaching environment.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing, stressful environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Experience designing alternative learning activities that develop
different training outcomes.
Experience with and commitment to working with culturally and ethnically diverse groups.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
SALARY
The initial salary placement range is $55,380 - $83,844 depending on applicable education and experience. Initial salary placement will be determined by the District Office of Human Resources in accordance with the faculty collective bargaining agreement and is not negotiable.
BENEFITS
The District is a participating agency in the CalPERS Hospital and
Medical Care plan which allows eligible employees to select from several plans for their hospital and medical care. The District pays the full cost of the employee-only health insurance premium for the plan selected by the employee. In addition, the District provides a discretionary fringe benefit allowance that may be allocated toward the premium cost of eligible dependent health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, accident insurance, income protection insurance, and available investment options.
